About Me

I’m Andrei, a Platform Engineer based in Christchurch, New Zealand. Originally from Romania, I moved to Wellington, then Auckland, and eventually settled in Christchurch with my family.

I got here the long way: helpdesk, network operations, VoIP, Linux sysadmin, cloud, data and integration, DevOps, and now platform engineering. Each step was less of a plan and more of following the interesting problem. What I actually like about the work is the troubleshooting and the puzzles, figuring out why something is broken or how to build something better, and helping the people around me do the same.

Outside of work I’m obsessed with weightlifting, read a lot, hang out with family and friends, play games sometimes, and try to be a good human. The last one is a work in progress.
